Next to his role as the Director for both, the Laboratory of Biomaterials & Computational Mechanics and the MSc in Biomedical Engineering of UoWM, Alexander also serves the Medical School of Boston University as an adjunct Professor of Biomechanics.

He is a co-founder of PLiN Nanotechnology S.A., a research driven company (established as a University Spin-off), which received VC funding during his tenure as the company’s CEO and President.

Alexander is a Fulbright Scholar and a Fulbright Outreach Ambassador for Greece, while also serving as an External Reviewer for the World Health Organization (WHO) concerning group-specific guidelines for manufactured nanomaterials. He is a former President of the Hellenic Society of Biomechanics, to the board of which he was firstly elected in 2013.

Having been granted multiple awards and scholarships for his research, he is ceaselessly involved in high added value projects and global networking activities. Alexander also serves the Editorial Board of various citation-indexed journals and has published more than 70 scientific manuscripts.
