Maria is conducting her PhD in Sports Medicine, at the Aristotle University of Greece. As an enthusiastic athlete herself, she is examining the relationship of impact mechanics on running-related injury risk and morbidity. We work closely together with her, to assess the effect of technical footwear systems on the cytokine levels recorded during strenuous running, utilizing mechanical testing and advanced FE modelling.
