The project envisions the development of silver nanoparticles with antiparasitic properties, in order to reduce the parasitic resistance towards already existing antiparasitic agents, as well as to decrease the parasitic burden in the living environment of companion animals. The use of silver nanoparticles with superior antiparasitic properties could represent a novel, groundbreaking mean of prevention and treatment of various kinds of parasitoses with positive effect both on companion animals and humans, thus contributing to the reduction of antiparasitic resistance by using a non-toxic and eco-friendly product.
